Village Naming Contest Results
Dear Community,
Last August, we invited you to help name our new village at Rainbow Ridge—and you responded with an incredible 94 entries!
Announcing the Sandra Wood Community Room
At our ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 27, we were delighted to unveil the new Sandra Wood Room in the Rainbow Ridge Community Building. Named in honour of the Cortes Housing Society’s founding director, this cozy new space is available for community groups to gather for potlucks, movie nights and more.
Village Naming Contest
Eight years ago, you helped name 51 acres in the heart of Manson’s Landing “Rainbow Ridge”. Now, as the orchard is planted, the first buildings rise out of the ground, and our first residents begin to make it home, we invite you to help name this new community to distinguish it from other parts of the property.

Our First Duplex is Complete!
We are thrilled to announce that we have completed the first duplex at Rainbow Ridge, and two families moved in at the beginning of July!
Summer Tours & Trail Closures
Are you curious to see what’s happening at Rainbow Ridge? We will be offering tours every Friday this summer from 2-4 pm.

There’s lots happening at Rainbow Ridge this spring. Duplex 1 is nearing completion, and we will be welcoming our first two families this summer. Duplex 2 is close to lock up, and we have started the foundation for Duplex 3.
Interested in natural building techniques?
Friday, May 8th from 9am-noon we are hosting a workshop on chip slip natural building at Rainbow Ridge (965 Beesley Rd).

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Earth Day orchard planting celebration and permaculture workshop. Together, we planted 35 fruit trees and enjoyed hands-on activities like building birdhouses and creating wildflower seed bombs with Autumn Barrett-Morgan.

What did we achieve in 2025?
